  • Michael H. Rangel, P.E. is a professional engineer and accredited accident reconstructionist. Prior to starting Crash Engineer, LLC in 2010 he resigned from the Dallas office of Rimkus Consulting Group, Inc. (Rimkus) where he was a senior consultant for over 6 years. Prior to joining Rimkus in 2004 Mr. Rangel resigned from Biodynamic Research Corporation (BRC) in San Antonio where he was an engineer for over 7 years. Mr. Rangel also spent some time prior to joining BRC as a seat belt designer with Takata Seat Belts, Inc. in San Antonio. He has worked on over 1,200 cases involving complex collision scenarios.  He has over 18 years of experience handling cases involving 18-wheeler, passenger vehicle, pickup truck, SUV, motorcycle, ATV, watercraft, bicycle and pedestrian related collisions. He has extensive experience in working through complex multi-vehicle and high-speed collision events including those involving vehicle rollover and occupant ejection.   • John J. Labra, Ph.D., P.E. is the President of Computech Engineering, Inc. in San Antonio, Texas and offers professional consulting services as an independent contractor. Dr. Labra was an independent forensic engineering consultant/contractor with Biodynamic Research Corporation for over 20 years. He has worked on over 2,500 cases in the capacity of a technical operations director. Dr. Labra continues to work in the field of biomechanics, injury causation, injury mechanism, crash worthiness and occupant kinematics. He has experience in analyzing various types of incidents including automotive, aircraft, boating, industrial slips and falls and sporting accidents. He is also very experienced in addressing the performance of airbags and the interaction of airbags with occupants.
